Established in 2014, Crede Power and Infrastructure Investments (“Crede”) is an authorised Financial Service Provider (registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority in South Africa). Crede provides transaction advisory services and fund management expertise focusing in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our sector focus is primarily infrastructure including water, power and housing.

Crede is a subsidiary of Harith General Partners. Which makes us partially owned by the Public Investment Corporation, which is the largest institutional investor on the African continent.

Crede is headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg and run by investment professionals with combined experience of over 50 years in project finance, private equity and investment management.

Sandile Sokhela is a Principal, Founder and CEO at Crede. Prior to establishing Crede, Sandile was a Shareholder, Executive Director, Principal and an Investment Committee member at Inspired Evolution Investment Management. Inspired Evolution was the Manager of the USD$100MIL Evolution One Fund that attracted the funds raised from DFIs which included the likes of IDC, IFC, Norfund, SIFEM, GEEREF and the Afdb. Prior to joining Inspired Evolution, Sandile spent two years at Afena Capital as Head of Institutional Business responsible for growing assets under management. Over his two-year tenure as head of the Institutional Business, Afena raised over R10 billion in funds under management. Prior to joining Afena Capital, Sandile spent 8 years at Investec Asset Management where he worked on various roles.

Elsje is a Principal at Crede. Prior to joining Crede, Elsje was at Nodus Capital was an Investment Executive. Elsje was responsible for originating and reviewing new opportunities; financial valuations, due diligence, risk identification and mitigation of existing and new investments and other opportunities. She also worked at Investec as a Business Development Manager where she was responsible for identifying, structuring and executing financing of power and infrastructure projects across Sub-Saharan Africa. Elsje also worked at the Industrial Development Corporation as the Account Manager for High Impact Projects, where she led, managed and coordinated a multi-disciplinary project team. She is an experienced Investment professional with a demonstrated track record in Private Equity, Project and Corporate Finance.

His primary focus has been Infrastructure and Financing advisory services, with a particular focus on power and utilities, port of entry redevelopment, water and sanitation, and mining in Sub-Saharan Africa. During this time his responsibilities at KPMG included financial modelling, project structuring, preparation of procurement documentation, financial analysis, business plan preparation and feasibility study development.
